Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our Health Services team at the Sandy Hill Community Health Centre. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the Health Services component, including reception services, telephone appointment services, personal appointment services, and medical records management.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage electronic medical records, utilizing Practice Solutions Suite (PSS) and other software applications to streamline workflows and improve data integrity.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Medical Office Assisting or equivalent experience in a medical environment.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and proficiency in French language skills, with the ability to provide advanced-level services under the Centre's designation.
  • Minimum two years' experience in a secretarial or clerical role within a medical setting, preferably with exposure to diverse populations, including youth, street-involved individuals, and multi-cultural communities.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in computer software applications, such as Word and PSS.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
