Job Summary:

Hunter West Legal Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Human Resources Manager to join our client's team in downtown Vancouver. As a key member of the firm's management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the employee lifecycle, managing staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of the HR function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Lifecycle Management:
    • Full cycle recruitment and selection of staff
    • Onboarding of new employees
    • Conducting annual performance reviews and compensation analysis
    • Addressing performance concerns as needed
    • Administering benefits and leaves of absence
    • Managing staff vacation time
    • Overseeing terminations and departures
  • HR Operations:
    • Administering firm Policies and Procedures, and updating them as required in accordance with Employment Standards
    • Running payroll in collaboration with Finance Director
    • Assist Partners and Finance Director with day-to-day operations of the firm

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience within a law firm
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and conflict resolution capabilities
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Open and flexible attitude
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or a related field is considered an asset

Compensation and Benefits:

Our client offers a competitive compensation and total benefits package, and the expected annual salary range for this position is $90,000-100,000 (full-time equivalent; will be pro-rated to reflect part-time schedule).
