Job Title: Behavioural Support Worker

VHA Home HealthCare is a leading provider of home care services in Ontario, and we are seeking a Behavioural Support Worker to join our team.

About the Role:

The Behavioural Support Worker will provide direct support to clients and families who require respite care for their children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Neurodevelopmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care to children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Neurodevelopmental conditions in home settings.
  • Administer and record prescribed medication as per instructions from a medical practitioner and follow the agency's Medication Policies and Procedures.
  • Assist clients with personal care and hygiene as necessary.
  • Implement behavioural strategies as per the Behavioural Support Plan (BSP).
  • Complete all required documentation and maintain regular up-to-date case notes in compliance with VHA standards.
  • Maintain program data and reports as required as part of the program evaluation and maintaining program quality.
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in a health-related field, such as Social Work/Social Service Work, Child and Youth Worker, Developmental Service Worker.
  • CPR, First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention (NVCPI) certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience ideal, but new grads welcome to apply.
  • Experience working directly with children and/or youth with significant needs and challenges affecting social, emotional, behavioral, communicative and/or developmental functioning.
  • G License and driving is mandatory.
