Job Title: Behavioural Support Worker

VHA Home HealthCare is a leading provider of home care services in Ontario, with a team of over 3,000 professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality, client-centred care. As a Behavioural Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting families in need of respite care for their children/youth with autism spectrum disorder and/or neurodevelopmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support to clients/families in their homes, focusing on recreational and leisure activities that meet their individualized care plans.
  • Participate in collaborative care meetings with the interdisciplinary team, clients, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Administer and record prescribed medication as per instructions from medical practitioners, following agency policies and procedures.
  • Assist clients with personal care and hygiene, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Implement behavioural strategies as per the Behavioural Support Plan (BSP) to support clients' needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case notes, adhering to VHA standards.
  • Conduct daily assessments of client needs and consult with families to ensure relevant information is shared.
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in a health-related field, such as Social Work/Social Service Work, Child and Youth Worker, or Developmental Service Worker.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention (NVCPI) certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with a focus on working with children/youth with significant needs and challenges.
  • G License and driving are mandatory.
