We are seeking an experienced Claims Legal Counsel to join our Claims department at Tokio Marine Kiln. As a key member of the team, you will report directly to the Head of Claims Legal and be responsible for ensuring that the delivery of the TMK Claims service meets customer expectations through direct claims handling and service supplier interactions.

The role involves:

  1. Assisting the Head of Claims Legal with complex claim referrals, litigation, and providing legal advice to the claims team and wider business, if necessary.
  2. Acting as a central referral point for the large claims team on complex claims and litigation issues.
  3. Delivering a first-class service to customers, brokers, coverholders, and internal stakeholders through personal ownership and team collaboration.
  4. Ensuring fair customer outcomes and commerciality when decision making aligns with TMK values.
  5. Maintaining a clear understanding of the company's risk appetites in terms of delegated authority, conduct, and financial crime.

This position requires a legally qualified individual with detailed knowledge of London Market insurance products across multiple lines of business, such as casualty/liability, property, cyber, marine, and aviation. The ideal candidate will have extensive post-qualification experience and a proactive approach to identifying key risks and legal developments impacting the claims team or wider business. They will educate and mentor claims team members on these issues as they arise.
