Job Description

The Global IT Risk Controls Assurance team at Royal Bank of Canada is seeking an experienced Senior IT Controls Governance Specialist to join their ranks.

Role Overview

This dynamic role will be responsible for enhancing the bank's controls environment by reviewing and documenting existing IT control documentation, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices across RBC's IT controls.

Salary Information

As a Senior IT Controls Governance Specialist, you can expect a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control Governance: Support the review of existing IT control documentation to ensure alignment with Internal Controls Management Standard, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices.
  • Support Review of New and Retired Controls: Assist in reviewing IT controls being added or retired from the enterprise book of record.
  • Establish Control Management Best Practices: Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish and maintain control management best practices across RBC's IT controls.
  • Provide Feedback and Recommendations: Offer ongoing feedback, advice, and recommendations to improve and streamline the IT control repository.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: University graduate or equivalent experience.
  • Stakeholder and Relationship Management: Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • IT Controls Experience: Experience with IT controls testing and/or IT audit, with a risk management foundation, is necessary.
