About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Operations Manager to join our team at RPS Hawk Inc. as a key member of our agricultural operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Manage Farm Operations
    • Oversee the daily operations of our poultry farm, ensuring efficient and safe production processes.
    • Manage and supervise a team of farm workers, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet their responsibilities.
  • Animal Care and Welfare
    • Ensure the health and well-being of our livestock, implementing measures to prevent disease and promote animal welfare.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with veterinarians and other industry experts to stay up-to-date on best practices.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of farm operations, including production data, employee performance, and safety incidents.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Health and Safety
    • Develop and implement health and safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair
    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of farm equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and meets industry standards.
    • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and reduce costs.
  • Financial Management
    • Manage the farm's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
    • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in agriculture or a related field an asset.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in farm management or a related field.
    • Proven track record of success in supervising and managing farm operations.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and farm management software.
