About the Role

RPS Hawk Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our agricultural operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our farm, ensuring the health and well-being of our livestock, and maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Care and Management
    • Supervise and coordinate the daily care and management of our livestock, including feeding, watering, and health checks.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve animal welfare and productivity.
  • Farm Operations
    • Oversee the daily operations of the farm, including crop management, equipment maintenance, and facility upkeep.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Team Leadership
    • Supervise and train a team of farm workers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of farm workers.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of farm operations, including animal health, crop yields, and equipment maintenance.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in agriculture or a related field an asset.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in farm operations or a related field.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Knowledge of animal welfare and productivity principles.
    • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
  • Work Environment
    • Work in a fast-paced farm environment, with regular exposure to dust, odors, and livestock.
    • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme weather conditions.
