What is the opportunity?

As a key member of the Wealth Management Services team at Royal Bank of Canada, you will work closely with Investment Advisors to provide expert consulting services to their clients, ensuring seamless coordination with their tax and legal professionals. This collaborative approach enables RBC advisors to deliver a level of integrated wealth management previously reserved for the most affluent families.

What will you do?

  • Conduct comprehensive client interviews and create detailed summary letters recapping advice discussed during sessions.
  • Collaborate with advisors on client/prospect seminars and develop relationships with estate planning professionals both within and outside RBC Financial Group.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant legislation, policy, and risk management issues.
  • Identify new business and referral opportunities for RBC Financial Group as needed.
  • Foster a cohesive working environment across RBC Financial Group to ensure seamless delivery of services to clients.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of activities and results.
  • Work with advisors to identify suitable opportunities.
  • Follow through and coordinate actions resulting from the interview process.
  • Stay informed on the business unit's strategy and client offerings.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • A Canadian Law Degree and admission to the bar in at least one Canadian province or territory.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience, with advanced knowledge of Canadian legislation, including wills, estate, and trust administration, as well as related tax rules and planning opportunities.
  • Good knowledge of various insurance products as estate planning tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of common law related to wills, estates, and trusts.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license.

Nice to have:

  • Bilingual Mandarin/Cantonese or French.
  • Estate and Trust experience.
  • Knowledge of Insurance Planning and Solutions.
  • STEP membership.
