Experienced Tort Assistant for Personal Injury Firm

We are a busy personal injury firm seeking an experienced and highly motivated legal assistant to join our dedicated team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for assisting an intermediate associate in a fast-paced and growing personal injury practice.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time position that requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of experience in personal injury or insurance defense and possess excellent time management skills.
Responsibilities- Maintain the lawyer's calendar, including scheduling new client meetings, examinations for discovery, mediations, pre-trials, and trials.
- Perform tasks associated with various calendar entries, such as booking services, arranging virtual set-ups, confirming attendances, and providing relevant materials.
- Handle general correspondence related to client productions and calendar entries.
- Prepare and serve documents, including affidavits and schedules.
- Assemble and serve records/briefs, including motions, mediations, medical records, pre-trial documents, and productions.
- Communicate effectively with clients.
- Maintain and organize client files.
- Post invoices and requisition cheques.
- Experience as a tort assistant/clerk or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of tort law and the Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Experience with the JSO Portal and Caselines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Excellent multi-tasking, proof-reading, and organizational abilities.
- Strong communication and management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
