The successful candidate can expect a salary of $75,000 - $85,000 per annum, reflecting the skills and experience required for this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to manage Plaintiff Personal Injury files, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Drafting correspondence to opposing counsel, including first and third-party letters, Statements of Claim, and other relevant documents, is also a key responsibility.
  • Scheduling mediations, examinations, and trials requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Assisting with preparing statements of accounts and disbursements involves reviewing financial information and ensuring accuracy.
  • Liaising with clients to obtain documents and schedule meetings requires excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Managing calendars for lawyers involves coordinating schedules and ensuring timely appointments.
  • Assisting with trial preparation involves researching and gathering evidence, as well as preparing court documents.
  • Ordering motor vehicle accident reports and relevant file work requires attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Reviewing and analyzing medical records involves interpreting complex information and making informed decisions.
  • Arranging for service and filing of court documents requires strong administrative skills and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of plaintiff personal injury clerking experience is required.
  • A solid understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure and SABS is essential for success in this role.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work with minimal direction are crucial for this position.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Word and Excel, is necessary for managing documents and spreadsheets.
  • A professional, flexible, and team-player attitude is vital for collaboration and success within our team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills are required for effective performance in this role.
