Chicago Title Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Residential Title Services Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our residential title services department.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Support the Assistant Vice President, Client Services in achieving departmental goals and objectives.
  • Monitor employee productivity and provide backup support as needed to ensure service levels are met.
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and implement strategies to boost productivity.
  • Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and mentoring to team members while motivating them to achieve their best.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings and performance reviews to ensure employees are meeting expectations.
  • Conduct file audits and address any issues that arise.
  • Ensure employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for staff scheduling, including work assignments, employee training, vacations, overtime assignments, backup for absent employees, and shift rotations.
  • Review and interpret title opinions, off-title searches, and supporting documentation while applying underwriting principles and guidelines to underwrite and process requests for residential title insurance.
  • Provide information to clients regarding title insurance, coverage, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Maintain new and existing client relationships while providing exceptional customer service, including interacting with clients, answering client inquiries, and effectively handling client concerns.

**Requirements**

  • Law Clerk designation from a community college.
  • Minimum five (5) years of residential real estate experience in a law firm and/or title insurance environment.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of residential real estate practices, from start to finish, including title issues and their resolution.
  • Solid understanding and interpretation of current legal terminology.
  • Highly professional with a customer service focus.
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to train and develop new and existing staff.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions quickly and confidently.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teraview, and Conveyancing platforms.
  • Willingness to work extra hours when required.
  • French is an asset.
