Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team at Advance Sheet Metal Ltd. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing and assembling sheet metal products, reading blueprints and specifications, and operating metalworking machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture and assemble sheet metal products, including ducts for hot air heating, air conditioning, and ventilation, in a factory setting.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to templates, and operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
  • Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces to ensure a high-quality finish.
  • Develop computerized patterns and layouts for sheet metal products.
  • Assemble, erect, and install hoisting and rigging equipment, and fit and join sheet metal parts.
  • Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes, and operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from surfaces of metal products.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and working with large workloads.
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling capacity.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and other personal protective equipment as required.
