Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team at Advance Sheet Metal Ltd. as a key member of our fabrication department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture and assemble ducts for hot air heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems in a factory setting.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to templates to ensure accurate cuts and fabrications.
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal to meet project specifications.
  • Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Develop computerized patterns and layouts to optimize fabrication processes and reduce waste.
  • Cut materials using power tools or by hand, depending on the project requirements.
  • Assemble, erect, and install hoisting and rigging equipment to ensure safe and efficient material handling.
  • Fabricate and fit sheet metal parts to meet project specifications and building codes.
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal surfaces.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and working in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality fabrications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
