We are currently recruiting for an Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at Novotel Toronto Centre. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a talented and experienced chef to join our team and contribute to delivering exceptional experiences for our guests.

Main Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Oversee the day-to-day leadership of the Kitchen and Stewarding teams, driving a culture of performance and high engagement through recognition, training, and coaching.
  • Culinary Excellence: Develop, train, communicate, and reinforce the service vision and standards to team members, and coach them in supporting the successful execution of the vision.
  • Menu Development and Costing: Develop, cost, and implement menus, training programs, and SOPs for the Kitchen team, ensuring efficient food and labour costs and controls.
  • Guest Service: Identify and resolve all guest concerns/complaints to ensure the brand promise is delivered, coaching and empowering team members to do the same.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the General Manager and Director of Food & Beverage to lead and manage the execution of the Food & Beverage vision for the Hotel.
Requirements
  • Culinary Experience: 3-5 years' experience as Executive Chef or 4-5 years as Executive Sous Chef in a full-service hotel environment.
  • Culinary Education: University or College diploma in a culinary or hospitality field, with preference given to individuals who are 'Red Seal' certified.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in menu and service design, with strong leadership, team, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, and a knowledge of Microsoft Office and Hotel Property Management Systems.
  • Work Environment: Available to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as required, including occasional 'Manager-On-Duty' shifts.
