Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - Operating Room

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Operating Room department at Mills Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide compassionate patient care and extend your nursing knowledge in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to patients on the Medical/Surgical Unit under the direction of a registered nurse.
  • Assist with assessment, direct patient care, and clerical duties.
  • Participate in the Northern Health Regional Operating Room Education (RORE) program to develop perioperative nursing skills.

Training and Development:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse in our Operating Room department, you will have the opportunity to participate in the RORE program, a 7-week blended learning course and practicum. This program will help you develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a perioperative nursing role.

Shift Rotation and Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00

Mills Memorial Hospital is a fully accredited 44-bed Acute Care facility, providing services including Psychiatric unit, surgical suites, ICU beds, Day Care service, and Community Cancer clinic.

Requirements:

Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant, current certification, and ability to communicate effectively, operate related equipment, and deal effectively with others.
