Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Walters Group. This role will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our steel construction projects and leading the welding engineering program.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and improving our quality management system
  • Auditing and resolving quality issues
  • Liaising with departments to ensure consistency and resolve problems
  • Developing quality plans and procedures
  • Managing internal and external NCRs and implementing corrective actions
  • Leading the welding program, including training, technology, and process development
  • Conducting studies and designing processes and machinery for welding work

You will also be responsible for:

  • Developing standard operating procedures for production and other departments
  • Participating in fabrication planning and incorporating lean manufacturing practices
  • Creating robotic welding applications and procedures

In addition, you will be required to:

  • Travel daily/weekly to fabrication facilities, sub-contractors, and project sites
  • Have a strong understanding of steel fabrication concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Suite of Products, AutoCAD, and other drafting software
  • Have excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
