Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled 4th Class Power Engineer to provide high-level maintenance expertise, ensuring departmental downtime meets Company objectives efficiently. The ideal candidate will perform daily inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and carry out repairs while adhering to quality, safety, and legislative guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily inspections as per Technical Safety BC requirements, including monitoring ammonia refrigeration plant, hot water systems, and waste water plant.
  • Collaborate with support companies when necessary.
  • Assist Maintenance attendants and mechanics with troubleshooting and repairs according to scheduling.
  • Support production and sanitation teams as required.
  • Respond to breakdown calls, assess, and repair immediately or as quickly as possible to minimize plant/machine downtime.
  • Maintain secondary production equipment, such as conveyors, dumpsters, and simple machines, as per preventative maintenance program.
  • Ensure effective communication with Team Members, Supervisors, Managers, and all plant employees.
  • Report defects, errors in production, machinery affecting the workplace to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
  • Complete paperwork, Daily work sheets, Preventative maintenance logs, Finalize work orders, and other tasks as required.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and maintain a tidy safe work area.
  • Carry out building repairs with a high level of concentration and alertness.
  • Hold a full understanding of JSA's, SOP's, and HACCP, BRC, or any other food safety compliance.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Education.
  • 4th class power engineering certificate.
  • Post-secondary education and training preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.

Estimated Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
