We are a leading electrical contracting company seeking an experienced Electric Power Systems Specialist to join our team.

Job Description

As an Electric Power Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical power systems in residential and commercial structures. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our clients' electrical systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Install Underground Wiring and Cables: Design and install underground wiring and cables to meet our clients' needs.
  • Splice, Join and Connect Wires: Use specialized tools to splice, join and connect wires in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Test and Measure Voltage, Loads, Ground Faults Integrity of Circuits: Conduct thorough testing and measurements to ensure the integrity of circuits and identify potential faults.
  • Troubleshoot and Isolate Faults: Troubleshoot and isolate electrical faults to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Connect Power to Audio and Visual Equipment: Safely connect power to audio and visual equipment to meet our clients' requirements.
  • Install Surface Mount and/or Overhead Cables: Install surface mount and/or overhead cables to provide reliable power distribution.
  • Install Power Generation, Stand-by Power Generation and Power Conditioning Systems: Design and install power generation, stand-by power generation and power conditioning systems to meet our clients' energy needs.
  • Ground and Bond Electrical Equipment, Systems and Structures including Swimming Pools and Hot Tubs: Ensure electrical equipment, systems and structures are properly grounded and bonded to prevent electrical shock.
  • Rénovate Electrical Systems in Residential and Commercial Structures: Renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures to meet current electrical codes and regulations.
  • Conduct Preventive Maintenance Programs: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment failure and reduce downtime.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints, Maps, Drawings and Specifications: Accurately read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in electrical power systems installation, maintenance and repair.
  • Judgement: Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
  • Organized: Highly organized with excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility: Flexible and able to work in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, retirement plan and paid time off.
