Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shop Labourer to join our team in Fort McMurray. As a Shop Labourer, you will play a critical role in supporting our manufacturing and refurbishment processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation and maintenance of equipment, including plasma tables and mechanical assembly tasks.

• Manage inventory of consumables and track usage to ensure efficient operations.

• Organize materials and supplies for jobs, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.

• Demonstrate proficiency in hand tools and assembly/fabrication skills, with a focus on safety and quality.

• Assist in moving machinery, tools, and products to correct shop locations using overhead cranes/telehandlers or forklifts.

• Participate in the manufacturing and refurbishment process, performing general labor tasks as required.

• Assist in painting components and preparing them for shipping, including strapping pallets and coordinating with the warehouse.

• Collaborate with journeyperson welders, mechanics, and machinists, following directions from peers and supervisors.

• Maintain a strong focus on shop cleanliness, removing excess material and garbage daily.

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and mechanical ability, with a willingness to learn and adapt.

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, with a focus on safety and ergonomics.

• Welding/grinding skills and overhead crane experience are assets, but not required.

• Previous related experience is an asset, but not necessary.

• Valid Driver's License and own transportation are required, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

• OSSA, CSTS, Class C First Aid certifications are assets, but not required.

• Must have a strong safety focus and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
