About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Quality Specialist to join our team at Magna. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are met in our production processes.

Your Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality inspections and verifications to ensure compliance with control plans and job element sheets.
  • Perform testing and measurement tasks to assess the acceptability of parts, including SPC data entry and analysis.
  • Prepare and submit test results and rejected reports to quality specialists and managers.
  • Participate in problem resolution processes to resolve quality concerns and provide feedback on improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct quality audits and inspections on purchased components to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Ensure lot traceability and maintain records of quality-related activities.
  • Audit reworked parts and salvaged components to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Escalate quality issues to quality specialists, assistant quality managers, and quality managers as needed.
  • Participate in layered process audits and follow up on action items.
  • Ensure operators perform quality inspections as per quality alert instructions.
  • Support training new personnel in quality control inspection and investigation techniques.
  • Identify and react to anomalies in control characteristics.
  • Perform incoming heat treatment verification and elevate anomalies to quality specialists.
  • Generate statistical studies and maintain accurate lab test records.
  • Perform in-process performance inspections and collect parts for closure technical lab.
  • Report unusual conditions, unsafe conditions, broken equipment, and procedures not in effect to quality specialists and managers.
Requirements
  • Completion of post-secondary education in quality or engineering-related field preferred.
  • ASQ or CQT or equivalent certificate an asset.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical observation ability.
  • 3 years' previous experience working in an automotive quality department.
  • Prior experience using metrology and analytical equipment.
  • Blueprint reading skills and knowledge of SPC and correct measuring techniques.
  • Above-average computer skills necessary in Microsoft applications.
  • Neat, legible writing ability to complete and maintain logs and records.
  • Auditing skills and experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Energetic, organized multitasker to maintain effectiveness in a fast-paced production environment.
