Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered care to individuals with complex mental health needs, including those with depression, suicidal tendencies, psychosis, and severe personality disorders.
- Conduct thorough behavioral observations, mental status assessments, and physical evaluations to inform care planning.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Collaborate with charge nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
- Minimum 1 year of acute adult mental health experience.
- Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and psychiatric nursing principles.
- Excellent assessment and crisis intervention skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good team player with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
