Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Consultant to join our Land Quality and Remediation team at SLR Consulting (Canada). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing contaminated sites projects, coordinating field staff and subcontractors, and engaging with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage contaminated sites projects, including site investigations, monitoring and sampling programs, and remediation programs, to ensure successful project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and supervise field staff and subcontractors to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
  • Engage with experienced senior team members, including Project Directors, Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals, and technical specialists to develop work plans and execute projects.
  • Analyze and interpret environmental data and prepare technical reports for senior review and submission to clients and regulators.
  • Liaise and build relationships with clients and other project stakeholders to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Participate in proposals and other business development opportunities to build SLR's client base and revenue stream.
  • Provide technical leadership through mentoring of staff during project delivery and for other aspects such as Health and Safety, training, team building and other, as required.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate findings and interpretations with various scientific, planning, and engineering disciplines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the environmental consulting industry.
  • Strong technical background in environmental site assessment and remediation, waste discharge permitting and compliance, and/or construction environmental management.
  • Working knowledge of provincial (BC CSR) and federal (CCME) environmental regulations and guidelines.
  • Undergraduate or Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, or geosciences preferred.
  • Professional status or eligibility for professional status with a professional organization.
  • Valid driver's license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required for travel to job sites/clients.
