Overview
SLR Consulting is seeking a Senior Remediation Specialist to enhance our proficient team of environmental solution experts. We are in search of a driven professional who can contribute extensive knowledge of remediation methodologies, technologies, and innovative practices to our collaborative remediation group. As a senior expert, you will play a pivotal role in our technical service offerings, designing and executing advanced remedial solutions while providing reliable technical guidance to our clientele.

Key Responsibilities
Your duties will encompass:
  • Delivering strategic and technical remediation consulting insights to clients and SLR personnel engaged in intricate remedial initiatives across Canada.
  • Drafting Remedial Options Analyses, Remedial Action Plans, pilot study scopes of work, engineering designs, and supporting technical documentation, including reports, drawings, correspondence, cost estimates, work plans, and specifications for client and regulatory submissions.
  • Overseeing successful project execution concerning health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, quality assurance/quality control, and client satisfaction.
  • Identifying opportunities with clients across various sectors.
  • Collaborating with other SLR disciplines to broaden SLR's service offerings and/or cross-selling SLR's services to provide an expanded suite of services to existing clients.
  • Leading and supporting business development and proposal efforts to meet strategic business objectives.
  • Mentoring junior and intermediate staff, offering guidance, and aiding in their professional development.
  • Staying updated on emerging technologies or techniques to advance the state of practice.
  • Participating in and/or managing and supervising remedial field operations of contractors and SLR personnel.

Additional Benefits
  • Competitive total compensation package, including a base salary in the $150,000-$180,000 range and industry-standard benefits (vacation, health benefits, and wellness initiatives). Final compensation will be based on individual education, professional credentials, experience, internal equity, and location.
  • Full-time, permanent position with flexible scheduling options (core hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm).

Desirable Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field (e.g., environmental engineering, civil engineering, earth systems science) - a Master's degree is preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Familiarity with provincial, local, and industry-specific regulations and guidelines, as well as best practices in remediation and site characterization.
  • Experience in:
    • Developing and executing remediation plans for various environmental media.
    • Designing, installing, and assessing in-situ remedial systems or field applications.
    • Managing remedial and environmental projects and project teams.
    • Contract management or tender specification for large remedial projects.
    • Successful business development, client management, and proposal preparation.
    • Overseeing performance monitoring and providing technical review of reporting.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Geoscientist in BC, AB, or other provincial jurisdictions.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness/ability to undertake short-term travel in Canada and the US.
