Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Counsellor-Continuing to join our team at School District #39 (Vancouver). As a Counsellor-Continuing, you will provide guidance and support to students in elementary and secondary schools, helping them navigate academic and personal challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counselling services to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional concerns
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote student well-being and academic success
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to support student learning and development
  • Conduct assessments and develop plans to address student needs
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education or Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology or School Counselling
  • Minimum 400 hours of supervised clinical practicum/internship experience
  • Teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level is an asset
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough knowledge of programs and services for families in the district and community
