About the Role

The Trauma program at CASA Mental Health nurtures connection and safety in the caregiver-child relationship after experiencing trauma. The program serves children and youth through three streams: the Outpatient Trauma Clinic, the Trauma and Attachment Group (TAG), or Consultative Services.

As an Assessment Psychologist, you will work closely with caregivers, clinicians, and other professionals to assess and interpret tests of advanced and specialized clinical/psychological services. You will make independent, advanced clinical decisions regarding assessment, treatment, and modification of treatment for patients with complex needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assessing and interpreting cognitive, memory, behavioural, emotional, academic, social, adaptive, personality, and executive functioning tests.
  2. Making independent, advanced clinical decisions regarding assessment, treatment, and modification of treatment for complex patients.
  3. Triage patients based on their level of need.
  4. Interpreting assessment results and compiling comprehensive psychological assessment reports that address the reason for referral and include appropriate recommendations.
  5. Providing one-on-one consultation with caregivers or clinicians regarding school placement/programming or implications of cognitive abilities on the ability to engage in therapy.
  6. Attending school conferences to support the implementation of recommendations and school program planning.
  7. Facilitating psychoeducational groups or providing presentations to CASA staff, families, or external organizations.


**Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will possess a Master's degree in psychology and formal training in psychological assessments. You must be currently registered in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists and have a minimum of two years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions.
