About the Role

The Trauma program at CASA Mental Health provides a comprehensive range of services to children and youth who have experienced trauma. Our team of professionals works together to assess and treat each child's unique needs.

The Assessment Psychologist will play a key role in developing and implementing the CASA Mental Health Classroom program, a innovative approach to providing mental health services in schools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and youth to determine their mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address each child's unique needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, caregivers and other professionals to ensure seamless integration of mental health services into school programs.
  • Provide education and support to caregivers and other professionals to help them better understand and support children and youth who have experienced trauma.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in trauma-informed care.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in psychology and formal training in psychological assessments.
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions.
  • Prior experience working with children and youth who have experienced trauma.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
