Career Opportunities at Fisheries and Oceans Canada- Canadian Coast Guard - Fleet

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Officer to join our team at Fisheries and Oceans Canada- Canadian Coast Guard - Fleet. As the second-in-command, you will be responsible for the general work, cleanliness, and good order of the ship, working closely with the Commanding Officer and other senior officers.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Assist the Commanding Officer in the overall management of the vessel
* Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the ship
* Supervise and coordinate the work of deckhands and other crew members
* Maintain a high level of discipline and order on board

**Requirements**

* Successful training in one or more of the following areas: Crane Operators Course, Deckhand training, or shore-based Fleet/Shipboard Management positions
* Experience as a Deckhand on a commercial fishing vessel or in shore-based Fleet/Shipboard Management positions
* Valid Health Canada Medical for seagoing personnel
* Willingness and ability to work overtime as required
* Valid Canadian Passport (for identified positions)
