About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ethnic Food Cook to join our team at Penticton Indian Cuisine. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, including complete meals and individual foods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, adhering to high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, ensuring that all team members are equipped to provide excellent service.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that our kitchen is well-stocked and organized.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Clean kitchen and work areas, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our staff and customers.
  • Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to ensure that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant environment, with a focus on urban area cuisine.
  • Cuisine Specialties: East Indian cuisine.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available.
  • Personal Suitability: Flexibility and team player skills required.
