About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ethnic Food Preparation Specialist to join our team at Penticton Indian Cuisine. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, as well as training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, adhering to high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Staff Training: Train kitchen staff and helpers in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, ensuring they meet our high standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring we always have what we need.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant environment, urban area.
  • Transportation: Public transportation available.

  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing kitchen demands and priorities.
  • Team Player: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on creating a positive and inclusive work environment.
Language and Work Environment
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
