Job Summary

As a General Merchandise Associate at Walmart Canada, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service and maintaining a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment. You will be responsible for covering an assigned area on the sales floor, zoning the area, and assisting with front-end coverage. Your primary goal will be to ensure that customers have a positive shopping experience and that the store is well-stocked and organized.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting all customers in a polite and friendly manner, assisting customers with product information, and resolving customer issues.
  • Cover an assigned area on the sales floor and maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Zone the assigned area and ensure that all products are properly displayed and stocked.
  • Assist with front-end coverage, including operating a cash register and handling customer transactions.
  • Communicate with other associates to ensure that the sales floor is well-stocked and organized.
  • Contribute to a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment by adhering to company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous retail experience an asset.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
