Recreation Therapist, Transitional Care Specialist

Shannex Incorporated is seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our Transitional Care Centre team in Bedford, Nova Scotia. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in planning, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic recreation programs that cater to the diverse needs of our patients.
About the Role:- Develop and implement comprehensive therapeutic recreation programs that address the physical, social, cultural, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of our clients.
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify client needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and support for our patients.
- Participate in the training and supervision of volunteers and student placements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in therapeutic recreation.
- Undergraduate degree in Therapeutic Recreation with certification in the field.
- Member of the Atlantic Canadian Society for Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- Class 4 Driver's License required if clients are being transported by facility vehicle.
- Minimum of one-year combined experience in the delivery of recreation in healthcare.
