Job Title: Recreation Therapist, Transitional Care
Shannex Incorporated is seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our Transitional Care Centre team in West Bedford, Nova Scotia. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in planning, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic recreation programs that cater to the physical, social, cultural, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of our clients.
About the Role:
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client assessments and goals.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Provide therapeutic recreation programs in various settings, including small groups and one-to-one sessions.
- Participate in ongoing evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in training, supervision, and evaluation of volunteers and student placements.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Therapeutic Recreation with certification in the field of Therapeutic Recreation.
- Member of the Atlantic Canadian Society for Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- Class 4 Driver's License required if clients are being transported by facility vehicle.
- Minimum of one-year combined experience in the delivery of recreation in healthcare.
