About the Role

Cineplex is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary operations, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising assigned areas of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality menu execution and service levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day culinary operations, ensuring healthy and safe work practices.
  • Plan and direct food preparation, including menu planning and inventory management.
  • Supervise and train culinary staff, ensuring they meet company standards.
  • Ensure accurate inventory counts and manage stock levels.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menu items and promotions.
  • Monitor and control food costs, ensuring profitability and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma in Culinary Arts or Hospitality.
  • 2-5 years' experience in a senior culinary role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Valid Food Handler's certificate and Smart Serve certification.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
