Overview

Frazer Health Authority is committed to providing exceptional healthcare services to the community. As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Cardiac Stepdown Unit at Burnaby Hospital.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and organized individual to join our team as a Unit Clerk. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating patient appointments, processing physicians' orders, and maintaining accurate patient records.

About the Role

  • Coordinate patient appointments and schedule tests
  • Process physicians' orders and maintain accurate patient records
  • Act as a communication link for the assigned area
  • Maintain timekeeping records for regular and casual staff
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • Grade 12 with medical terminology and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program
  • One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm
  • Ability to organize work
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications

Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $57,916 - $61,849 CAD, based on a 30-hour workweek and an hourly rate of $28.31 CAD.
