We are seeking a skilled Community Social Services Specialist to join our team at CALACS francophone d'Ottawa. In this role, you will provide essential support services to individuals in need, working closely with local communities and partner organizations.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires 2 years of experience in a related field. As a Community Social Services Specialist, you will work directly with clients, providing crisis intervention, counseling, and other support services. Your ability to communicate effectively and empathetically is crucial in building trust with our clients.

You will be responsible for developing service intervention logic models and maintaining program statistics for evaluation and research purposes. Additionally, you will screen, recruit, and train volunteers and support staff, ensuring the continuity of our services.

Responsibilities
  • Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services
  • Provide suicide and crisis intervention
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions
  • Liaise with other social services agencies and healthcare providers involved with clients
  • Develop service intervention logic models and outcome measures
  • Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research
  • Screen, recruit, and train volunteers and support staff
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social outings
Credentials
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate
  • Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma
