About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned commercial banking professional to lead our commercial lending team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial banking, with a proven track record of guiding underwriting teams and navigating complex financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of underwriters to evaluate and recommend commercial mortgage loans
  • Identify inefficiencies in the underwriting process and implement improvements
  • Contribute to the comprehensive administration of the portfolio, including ongoing loan management and accountability
  • Coordinate the flow of deals from start to end, assist in process development, automation, and develop reports to monitor efficiency
  • Liaise and collaborate with stakeholders, including the Administration, Funding, Treasury, and Accounting Teams
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of team members to become experts in credit analysis and risk assessment

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial banking
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on CMHC insured loans
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading a team in a professional setting
  • Advanced Excel and Data Modelling skills, Excellent MS office skills required
  • Knowledge of CMHC policies and corporate lending policies
  • Familiarity with AML and KYC requirements
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate markets in Canada
  • Expert in financial statements and real estate analysis
  • Experience in Ncino or Sharepoint is considered an asset
  • Experience in ERP implementation in any business function is considered an asset

Compensation

We offer a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $95,000 and $110,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience of the chosen candidate.
