Job Summary
Cummins Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Field Service Technician to join our team in Mount Pearl, NL. As a key member of our Distribution Business, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service and support to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on heavy duty equipment at customer sites with minimal direction.
- Engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring prompt and efficient attention to their needs.
- Apply specialized tools and follow documented procedures to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
- Evaluate and escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
- Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, and warranty claims.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain service vehicles and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Intermediate level of workshop-related experience required.
- Some commercial inspections experience.
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products.
- High Voltage/Low Voltage experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
- Setup, troubleshoot, and repair basic paralleling generator systems.
- Understanding switchgear schematics.
