Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand
- Operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products
- Provide excellent customer service and professionalism in all interactions
- Accept payment or invoices for items delivered
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Sell products over established routes
- Assemble, install, and set up merchandise/products
- Keep a record of items received and delivered
- Deliver newspapers, flyers to residences and businesses
- Prepare, package, and restock goods
- Transport and handle dangerous goods
- Accept and deliver messages and packages for events, conferences, or assemblies
- Load and unload goods
- Sort packages for delivery
- Follow directions and read maps
- Use maps and other trip planning aids
- Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs, and any problems
- Set appointments for sales team
- Perform administrative tasks
- Pay and receive payments for goods
- Provide customer service
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Requirements:
- Regional and national transportation/travel experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Physically demanding role requiring attention to detail and ability to handle heavy loads
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
