Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to ensure the best possible health outcomes.
- Manage and coordinate patient care, including referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, guidelines, and best practices to provide evidence-based care.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure clear understanding and coordination of care.
- Participate in educational and training activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
- Current certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BCLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Emergency department experience is an asset.
- College of Family Physicians of Canada ER certification would be considered an asset.
