Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the position of Director of Manufacturing Engineering at Acuity Brands Lighting, Inc. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and contributing to the development and execution of corporate strategy for world-class manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Process Development and Implementation

Define and standardize manufacturing processes implemented in our production sites, ensuring compliance with operational excellence systems.

Automated Production Environment

Ensure the performance of automated production equipment, implementing preventative maintenance methodologies and optimizing existing processes.

Project Management

Manage projects surrounding electronic boards automated testing software and equipment development, as well as implement efficient test sequences development programs.

Process Optimization

Determine and deploy process optimization programs that yield improvements in quality, cost, or productivity, tracking results based on objectives.

Team Leadership

Act as a liaison and business partner to production and product development teams, supporting new product introductions and contributing to the continuous improvement of DFMEA and PFMEA practices.

Key Performance Indicators

Implement relevant KPIs, define targets, and execute necessary action plans and projects towards higher operational efficiency.

Research and Development

Research and suggest new technologies for manufacturing engineering, supporting future product launches and growth strategies, and evaluate and develop next-generation production concepts.

Supplier Collaboration

Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with key suppliers, improving quality, costs, or productivity, and share expertise to resolve issues.

Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Experience

12+ years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, with 5 years in a management position.

Technical Skills

Experience with test automation software (NI Teststand), knowledge of electronic boards assembly methods (SMT, TH, suppliers, etc.), and expertise with standards such as CE, UL, CSA, etc.

Soft Skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to develop a high-performing team, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

Language

Bilingual French and English, to serve clients and external service providers across Canada and the USA.
