We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the position of Director of Manufacturing Engineering at Acuity Brands Lighting, Inc. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and contributing to the development and execution of corporate strategy for world-class manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Process Development and Implementation
Define and standardize manufacturing processes implemented in our production sites, ensuring compliance with operational excellence systems.
Automated Production EnvironmentEnsure the performance of automated production equipment, implementing preventative maintenance methodologies and optimizing existing processes.
Project ManagementManage projects surrounding electronic boards automated testing software and equipment development, as well as implement efficient test sequences development programs.
Process OptimizationDetermine and deploy process optimization programs that yield improvements in quality, cost, or productivity, tracking results based on objectives.
Team LeadershipAct as a liaison and business partner to production and product development teams, supporting new product introductions and contributing to the continuous improvement of DFMEA and PFMEA practices.
Strategic PlanningImplement relevant key performance indicators, define targets, and execute necessary action plans and projects towards higher operational efficiency.
Supplier CollaborationDevelop and maintain a collaborative relationship with key suppliers, improving quality, costs, or productivity, and sharing expertise to resolve issues.
Requirements and Qualifications- Experience
12+ years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, with 5 years in a management position.
Technical SkillsExperience with test automation software (NI Teststand), knowledge of electronic boards assembly methods (SMT, TH, suppliers, etc.), and expertise with standards such as CE, UL, CSA, etc.
Soft SkillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to develop a high-performing team, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
LanguageBilingual French and English, with the ability to serve clients and external service providers across Canada and the USA.
