Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our Radiology Department at Nova Scotia Health. This is a casual hourly FT long-assignment position.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision, performing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, and fostering a culture of safety. You will work in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment and be responsible for effective communication.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision
  • Possess physical capabilities to perform duties
  • Demonstrated initiative, organizational and prioritizing skills
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $30.83 - $37.54 per hour. In addition, you may be eligible for a benefits package, including health, dental, travel, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Preferred Qualifications

We prefer applicants who are bargaining unit employees for unionized positions. Additionally, we would like candidates with ability to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality and competencies in French language.

Working Conditions

This is a long assignment full-time position, requiring 75 hours biweekly. The duration is approximately 18 months, with shift work and call required, evenings, nights, and weekends.
