We are seeking a skilled Radiopharmaceutical Specialist to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
About the OpportunityThe successful candidate will prepare, dispense, and administer radiopharmaceuticals to perform over 70 nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies. This role requires effective quality assurance of radiopharmaceuticals, imaging equipment, and documentation maintenance in accordance with hospital accreditation, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), and Health Canada regulations.
As a Radiopharmaceutical Specialist, you will be responsible for adapting procedures, performing complex computer manipulations and analysis, and providing high-quality healthcare to clients. On a rotating basis, you may be required to independently perform on-call/emergency procedures outside of department hours for presentation to the nuclear medicine physician.
About You- You must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Certification from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and licensure from the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) are mandatory.
- Experience as a Radiation Safety Officer is considered an asset.
- Basic Life Support Certification and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training are also required.
- You must be able to establish rapport with patients, demonstrating courtesy, kindness, understanding, and professionalism at all times.
- You must be committed to practicing all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and demonstrate initiative in maintaining and expanding related skills.
- Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Compensation and IncentivesThe salary range for this position is $34.24 - $39.96 per hour.
