Central Alberta Co-op is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Food Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our store operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our food store.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Food Manager in overseeing store operations, including budgeting and monitoring Sales Per Employee Hour (SPEH).
- Assist with recruitment, scheduling, and performance reviews in conjunction with and in the absence of the Food Manager.
- Oversee merchandising, signage, and display management to create an engaging shopping experience for our customers.
- Supervise staff and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Implement loss prevention measures and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in the food industry.
- Business-related education would be an asset.
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Tech-savvy with a good understanding of retail technology.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; some heavy lifting is required.
