- B.Sc. degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Plant, Food or Biological Sciences or other area of specialization relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency
- Experience planning, executing and managing research activities under laboratory and/or field conditions.
- Experience managing, implementing and monitoring for compliance of health and safety, laboratory safety, biosafety and/or animal care programs and services in the research environment.
- Experience planning, organizing and overseeing investigations into accident causations and hazard identification.
- Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Plant, Food or Biological Sciences or other area of specialization relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency
- Experience managing laboratory and/or field work for safe practices, procedures, and site conditions.
- Experience managing respiratory safety programs.
