About the Role


We are seeking an experienced E-Learning Curriculum Developer to join our team at Nova Scotia Community College. As a key member of our instructional design team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality online courses and programs that meet the needs of our students.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive online course curricula that align with industry standards and accreditation requirements
  • Work closely with subject matter experts, instructors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and up-to-date content
  • Design and implement engaging and interactive learning experiences using various e-learning authoring tools and software
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of online courses and programs, making recommendations for improvement and growth
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate curriculum development with college-wide initiatives and goals


Requirements and Qualifications

  • A university undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as education, instructional design, or a related field
  • A recognized professional certification/designation in instructional design or equivalent combination of education credentials and certifications
  • A minimum of five years of recent and relevant experience in developing, designing, and supporting online courses and programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning techniques, assessment strategies, and educational technology
  • Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring software packages, such as Brightspace and Articulate Storyline
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy principles and their application in course design
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to improve course quality and student outcomes
