Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Care Aide to join the Long Term Care Unit at Cedarview Lodge in North Vancouver, BC.
As a Care Aide, you will work under the functional direction of a Registered Nurse or other designate to assist in the delivery of client care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and assisting with meals and oral hygiene.
- Responding to call bells/alarms and observing and monitoring clients' progress, symptoms, and behavioral changes.
- Utilizing mechanical aides to transport clients and providing assistance with lifting and/or transferring of clients.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Grade 10 (including English 10).
- Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Eligibility for registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
