At Louis Brier Home and Hospital, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Aide to join our team.
Job Summary:The Care Aide will provide personal care to residents, including bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, feeding, and oral hygiene. The successful candidate will also assist with transfers and mobilization of residents, perform nursing procedures, and record observations and reports.
Responsibilities:- Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, feeding, and oral hygiene.
- Assist with transfers and mobilization of residents using body mechanics and mechanical aids.
- Perform nursing procedures, such as giving enemas, obtaining specimens, and administering minor non-sterile dressings.
- Record observations and reports any changes or problems in residents' condition.
- Transport residents to and from dining room areas, lounges, and activity programs.
- Ambulate residents as directed by the care plan.
- Ensure the safety of residents while performing all tasks and assignments.
- Graduation from a recognized Health Care Aide program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Eligible for registration with the BC Care Aide and Health Care Assistant Registry.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize work and deal effectively with others.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Competitive salary: Grid 22 $28.74/hourly.
