Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Care Aide to join the Long Term Care Unit at Cedarview Lodge in North Vancouver, BC.

As a Care Aide, you will work under the functional direction of a Registered Nurse or other designate to assist in the delivery of client care. Your responsibilities will include providing personal care, assisting with meals and oral hygiene, and performing nursing care duties as applicable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care to clients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
  • Assist with meals and oral hygiene
  • Perform nursing care duties as applicable
  • Respond to call bells/alarms
  • Observe and monitor clients' progress, symptoms, and behavioral changes
  • Utilize mechanical aides to transport clients and provide assistance with lifting and/or transferring of clients
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients and staff

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Grade 10 (including English 10)
  • Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Eligibility for registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
